However, you must keep in mind that everyone is different and which stretches will work for you may vary from
the ones that will work for someone else. Also, the level of relief you will experience will also vary based on the

What causes piriformis syndrome, in simple terms?
Piriformis Syndrome is typically a result of compression or pressure on nerves in your legs and buttocks. Many
people that experience piriformis syndrome pain also experience sciatica or sciatic pain.
So how do you relive pressure on the nerve? Most of the time simple stretches can relieve the
pressure by strengthening weak muscles and or stretching muscles are that or too tight.
The muscles in our back and legs become weak and tight mainly due to sedentary lifestyles that we live. We sit
all day, in a desk chair, on the couch, at the dinner table. Is it really a surprise that our bodies become out of
alignment?
So how do you know which exercises and stretches to do for piriformis syndrome? First, you need
to identify which muscle of your body are too tight and may be causing your pain. As I mentioned before, there is
no right or wrong answer, but there are certainly commonalities between most people with piriformis syndrome and
sciatica.
